About Our PDF Converter: Sources, Methods & Limits

A small tool for keeping useful documents
DeckExport is an independent PDF utility operated by JonLuca De Caro. It brings supported document links, PDF previews and page selection into one place, so you can save a deck or excerpt for offline reading. Conversion is free and does not require a DeckExport account.
It is not affiliated with DocSend, Dropbox, Google or Speaker Deck. Those services control their own documents, sharing settings and export formats.
What the converter actually does
Public Google Docs, Slides and Sheets links use Google’s PDF export. Supported Drive, Dropbox and direct-file links retrieve existing PDFs or images. A public DocSend document uses a native export when offered; supported viewers can instead be assembled from their page images. Speaker Deck uses its public slide images.
The browser prepares the PDF preview and selected-page exports. Full downloads of existing PDFs keep the original bytes when no page selection is entered. An excerpt is a new file. Captured pages are image-based and do not gain searchable text through OCR.
How supported conversions are checked
Our checks fetch public examples, parse the returned PDF files and verify page counts. On September 12, 2026, nine live conversion fixtures passed: seven native file/export paths, a 21-page DocSend viewer capture and a 40-page Speaker Deck capture. Browser checks also covered previews, image combination and reordered page downloads.
Input validation checks source hosts, public destinations, file contents and size limits. Viewer capture requires the complete ordered page sequence. A missing page or incomplete stream is an error, not a shortened successful export.
These tests show that particular workflows worked when checked. Source platforms can change, revoke a link or remove a file. We document limits on each source page and update the guides when behavior changes.
What is outside the scope
The converter cannot complete email, password, identity or NDA gates. It does not use your logged-in Google, Dropbox or DocSend session. It does not process arbitrary HTML websites, whole folders or data rooms, or direct Word and PowerPoint uploads.
It also does not provide OCR, redaction, compression controls or multiple-PDF merging. Use documents you have permission to save and choose a different method when those features are necessary. The tool comparison explains some alternatives.
