How to convert your link
Copy a shared file link
Open the individual file’s sharing options in Dropbox and copy the link. Keep the full link, including any rlkey or other sharing parameters.
Open the file in DeckExport
Paste the link and convert. DeckExport requests the downloadable file behind the Dropbox preview page. PDFs stay as PDFs; a PNG or JPEG becomes a PDF page.
Choose what to keep
Review the PDF, rename it, and select pages if needed. To combine several images, download them from Dropbox first and choose Upload a file in DeckExport.
Dropbox shared files and Dropbox DocSend
A regular dropbox.com shared link points to a stored file. DeckExport downloads supported files from that link. A docsend.com link opens a DocSend document viewer, which uses a different conversion process.
For a DocSend presentation without a download button, follow the DocSend guide. DeckExport can capture pages from supported public DocSend viewers. That fallback does not apply to regular Dropbox previews with downloads disabled.
Supported files and sharing settings
Dropbox links must be public and allow downloading. Password-protected links, team-only access, expired shares, folders, and unsupported file types cannot be converted. If the preview opens only because you are signed in, request a publicly accessible share link or the original file.
DeckExport supports PDF, PNG, and JPEG source files up to 12 MB. A Word document, PowerPoint file, or other format stored in Dropbox needs to be exported to PDF in its original application first. Renaming a file extension does not convert the file.
Common questions
Do I need to replace dl=0 with dl=1?
No. Paste the full Dropbox share link as it is. DeckExport prepares the file-download URL while retaining the sharing information it needs.
Can I convert an entire shared Dropbox folder?
No. Use an individual supported file link. You can also upload one PDF or combine up to 40 local PNG and JPEG images, within the 12 MB total upload limit. Local images must fit within 16 megapixels each and 24 megapixels combined.
